Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention
Heel the Soul
The Epsilon chapter of Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc. presents our Annual Heel the Soul Walk: a one-mile walk in heels to heal the souls of victims of domestic violence globally. In the United States, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of some form of physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime. Many people forget the presence of Domestic Violence in our community today.
Every year, our sisters put on this walk to bring awareness to the abuse that happens in our community every day along with showing support to all the victims that have ever felt this tragedy in their homes. We hope that one day, we can create enough awareness that it will cease to exist. Join us, in our fight to Stop the Silence, and END THE VIOLENCE.
Find out more about our walk this year, and the organizations we sponsor!
We encourage participants of the walk to wear heels to show support for victims of abuse but it is not necessary*
Sigma for Society
The Epsilon chapter hosts a weeklong dedication with events and fundraising solely for our national philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention. Events include a purple out, presentations to bring awareness to domestic violence, and bringing in guest speakers.
Project Safe is a non-profit organization whose goal is to end domestic violence through education, awareness, and support to survivors. Money raised form Heel the Soul typically is donated to Project Safe by Epsilon chapter. For more information, visit https://www.project-safe.org/
